Exploit:Win32/CVE-2010-3962.A is a detection for a specially-crafted HTML script that is designed to attempt to exploit the reported vulnerability described by Microsoft Security Advisory 2458511. InstallationThe vulnerability affects Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer 7 and Internet Explorer 8. In a web-based attack scenario, an attacker could create a webpage that is used to exploit this vulnerability. In addition, compromised websites and websites that accept or host user-provided content or advertisements could contain specially-crafted content that could exploit this vulnerability. An attacker would have to convince users to visit the website, typically by getting them to click a link in an email or Instant Messenger message that takes users to the attacker's Web site.
