Also known as a trojan horse program, this is a deceptive program that performs additional actions without the user's knowledge or permission. It does not replicate.

Additional DetailsTrojan:SymbOS/Romride.B affects devices running the Symbian S60 operating system. It is distributed in a malicious SIS file named 'Data Update By MSF.sis' and when executed, installs a malfunctioning system configuration files into the C: drive of the phone.
This is followed by different effects depending on the version of ROM software installed on the device. Effects witnessed vary from start up failure to no apparent effect at all.

If the phone has been rebooted and will not start again, it can be recovered with a hard format keycode that is entered in the phone at boot.
