Explanation :

Threat behavior Trojan:Win32/Kilim.D is a malicious program that is unable to spread of its own accord. It may perform a number of actions of an attacker's choice on an affected computer.

Installation

When it runs, Trojan:Win32/Kilim.D copies itself to c:\documents and settings\administrator\application data\install_flashsetup.exe. The malware modifies the following registry entry so that it runs each time you start your PC:

Adds value: "adobeflash"
With data: "c:\documents and settings\administrator\application data\install_flashsetup.exe"
To subkey: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run The malware creates the following files on your computer:

  • c:\documents and settings\administrator\local settings\application data\google\chrome\user data\default\preferences
  • c:\documents and settings\administrator\local settings\temp\chromepref.txt
  • c:\documents and settings\administrator\local settings\temp\operapref.txt
  • c:\documents and settings\administrator\local settings\temp\pref.txt
  • c:\documents and settings\administrator\local settings\temp\yandexpref.txt


Payload

Modifies system security settings
Trojan:Win32/Kilim.D disables the LUA (Least Privileged User Account), also known as the €œadministrator in Admin Approval Mode€ user type, by making the following registry modification:

Adds value: "EnableLUA"
With data: "0"
To subkey: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

Note: Disabling the LUA allows all applications to run by default with all administrative privileges, without the user being prompted for explicit consent.
