Threat behavior Trojan:Win32/Musta.A is a malicious program that is unable to spread of its own accord. It may perform a number of actions of an attacker's choice on an affected computer.

Installation

Trojan:Win32/Musta.A copies itself to the following locations:

• c:\documents and settings\administrator\application data\starmux.exe
• c:\documents and settings\administrator\start menu\programs\startup\starmux.exe

The malware modifies the following registry entry so that it runs each time you start your PC:

Adds value: "starmux.exe"
With data: "c:\documents and settings\administrator\application data\starmux.exe"
To subkey: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run The malware creates the following files on your computer:

• c:\documents and settings\administrator\application data\starmux.exe.ini

Modifies system security settings
Trojan:Win32/Musta.A adds itself to the list of applications that are authorized to access the Internet without being stopped by the Firewall, by making the following registry modification:

Adds value: "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\starmux.exe"
With data: "c:\documents and settings\administrator\application data\starmux.exe:*:enabled:starmux.exe"
