Installation
This threat can create files on your PC, including:

  • %APPDATA% \local\microsoft\windows\temporary internet files\content.ie5\6wm0pkj1\new[1].exe
  • %APPDATA% \local\nwjtq\reader.exe, for example %APPDATA%\local\nwjtq\reader.exe
  • %APPDATA% \local\nwjtq\update.exe, for example %APPDATA%\local\nwjtq\update.exe


It modifies the registry so that it runs each time you start your PC. For example:

In subkey: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run Sets value: "Windows Update Securyt"
With data: "c:\users\administrator\appdata\local\nwjtq\reader.exe"

The malware uses code injection to make it harder to detect and remove. It can inject code into running processes.
