Aliases :

Trojan:W32/Scar.A is also known as Trojan Horse (Symantec), Trj/Downloader.MDW (Other), PWS:Win32/Daptdei.A (Microsoft).

Explanation :

A trojan, or trojan horse, is a seemingly legitimate program which secretly performs other, usually malicious, functions. It is usually user-initiated and does not replicate.

Additional DetailsTrojan:W32/Scar downloads a text file containing URLs that link to other malicious executables.

When executed, Scar downloads the executables listed in the text file from remote servers. The downloaded files are then silently executed in the background.

The executables can be trojan-downloaders, trojan-PSWs, keyloggers or monitoring tools, e-mail worms or bots, and so on. Each may have its own payload.
