Cookies are a small files put on your harddrive by websites to recognize you.
In these files they can put anything, when was the last time you visited, first time, how long was your last visit, what you buyed, which username did you use, your password, ...
You can see this is a real danger to your privacy
Now what can you do ?
In Internet Explorer(5) you can disable or enable all cookies.
Tools > Options > Security > Costum level
Look for Cookies.
In Netscape Navigator(4) you can also disable or enable all cookies.
Edit > Preferences > Advanced
You can also chose to get a warning each time you get a cookie.
But you don't wanne try that, unless you want to click 50 times for each page.
But when you disable all cookies, you miss a few things.
Like Personal content, no more.
But don't there are a few programs which allow you to chose from which site you accept cookies and from which not.
