The following are codes that you can use on a iPhone for more info or functionality.
Use at your own risk.
You can open the iPhones dB meter with:
*3001#12345#*then press "Call.".
It shows the actual network signal strength.
A dB reading below 50 generally indicates good strength.
You can get an even more options with:
*3001#123456#*and pressing "Call".
