Summary:
EMC Replication Manager and EMC AppSync may contain unquoted entries in the Windows registry service path that could potentially be exploited by an attacker to execute malicious programs.
Details:
Certain Windows registry service paths in EMC AppSync and EMC Replication Manager may contain unquoted entries. An attacker could potentially exploit this vulnerability to execute malicious programs with elevated privileges.
Resolution:
The following products contain the resolution to this issue:
EMC Replication Manager version 5.5.2 Hotfix. Customer needs to upgrade from earlier versions of RM to 552 and then apply the hotfix.
EMC AppSync 2.1.0
EMC recommends all customers upgrade to one of the versions listed above for their respective product at the earliest opportunity
