Trojan:HTML/Fakeinit is a detection for an HTML page utilized by Win32/Fakeinit. It displays a fake warning message reporting that the user's computer is infected with spyware. Trojan:HTML/Fakeinit is installed by Trojandownloader:Win32/Fakeinit. It may be present in the Windows system folder as a randomly named HTML file. The registry is modified to display the HTML file as the background wallpaper when Windows starts. Modifies value: "Wallpaper" With data: "<path and file name of Trojan:HTML/Fakeinit>" In subkey: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Desktop\General Note: affected users may be unable to change the wallpaper settings.
