A security issue affects these releases of Ubuntu and its derivatives:

- Ubuntu 26.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

Summary:

Perl DBI module could be made to crash or run programs as your login if it
opened a specially crafted file.

Software Description:
- libdbi-perl: Perl Database Interface (DBI)

Details:

It was discovered that the Perl DBI module did not correctly handle
certain integer arithmetic operations. An attacker could possibly use
this issue to cause a denial of service or execute arbitrary code.
(CVE-2026-73193, CVE-2026-73194)

Update instructions:

The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following
package versions:

In general, a standard system update will make all the necessary changes.
