A security issue affects these releases of Ubuntu and its derivatives:

- Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

Summary:

cgit could be made to expose sensitive information over the network.

Software Description:
- cgit: hyperfast web frontend for git repositories written in C

Details:

It was discovered that cgit incorrectly handled repository paths when HTTP
cloning was enabled. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to
access files outside the repository and obtain sensitive information.

Update instructions:

The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following
package versions:

Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
cgit 0.11.2.git2.3.2-1.1ubuntu0.1~esm1
Available with Ubuntu Pro

In general, a standard system update will make all the necessary changes.
