A security issue affects these releases of Ubuntu and its derivatives:

- Ubuntu 26.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

Summary:

Pillow could be made to crash or expose sensitive information if it
processed a specially crafted image file.

Software Description:
- pillow: Python Imaging Library

Details:

It was discovered that Pillow did not properly manage memory when
processing certain image files. An attacker could possibly use this issue
to cause a denial of service or read sensitive data.

Update instructions:

The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following
package versions:

Ubuntu 26.04 LTS
python3-pil 12.1.1-2ubuntu1.3
python3-pil.imagetk 12.1.1-2ubuntu1.3

Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
python3-pil 10.2.0-1ubuntu1.3

In general, a standard system update will make all the necessary changes.
