New mariadb packages are available for Slackware 15.0 and -current to
fix security issues.


Here are the details from the Slackware 15.0 ChangeLog:

patches/packages/mariadb-10.5.28-i586-1_slack15.0.txz: Upgraded.
This update fixes bugs and a security issue:
Easily exploitable vulnerability allows high privileged attacker with network
access via multiple protocols to compromise MySQL Server. Successful attacks
of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized ability to cause a hang or
frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of MySQL Server.

Installation instructions:

Upgrade the package as root:
# upgradepkg mariadb-10.5.28-i586-1_slack15.0.txz

Then, restart the database server:
# sh /etc/rc.d/rc.mysqld restart
